Following  Kraft Lawrence ( Spice) an experienced travelling merchant and his sharp-tongued 600-year-old pagan deity companion  Holo ( Wolf) on their journey to return to  Yoitsu, Holo's home in the north. A tender relationship has blossomed between the characters, as they make deals, travel between cities, encounter religious fanatics, overcoming the daily toils of a travelling merchant.
